Medical Records go Mobile at Bon Secours Hospital
When Bon Secours Hospital in Dublin decided to relocate its current medical records to a new location, Storage Systems Ltd was selected to supply, design and install a storage system which would best utilise the limited space available.
Compactus Power³ Mobile Shelving was chosen as this system offered the best space utilisation and fast retrieval times due to the computerised control system which electrically powers the motors located in each mobile base.
The space was maximised by creating 2 blocks of Mobile shelving each having it’s own access aisle. This solution provides accessibility at the touch of a button to over 3km of files stored in mobile bases 6m long.
The shelving has a unique side panel design which eliminates medical records from being snagged behind uprights which is common in other systems. Sliding book support dividers were also used to help manage the medical record operation.
With it's superior safety systems such as MCMS, motion sensors, anti-tilt, passive safety and automatic emergency stop baffle bars – Bon Secour medical records team could be confident that all health and safety requirements were met.
