Compactus Mobile Shelving with a difference for Altana Pharma Cork

Altana Pharma have recently built a brand new manufacturing facility in Cork, Ireland. At this site, Altana will initially produce tablets for one of the company’s newest drugs, Roflumilast (Daxas™), for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. A second medicine, Pantoprazole (Protium™), the most successful drug of Altana Pharma, which is used in over 90 countries to treat acid-induced gastrointestinal conditions and oesophagitis, will also be produced.

In total, 7 no. Compactus Mobile Shelving Systems were installed at different locations throughout the new pharmaceutical plant. Six of these installations are designed with Sysco Shelving on Compactus Mobile Bases for storing documentation and one is designed to store drug test samples in Plastic trays 600mm wide x 400mm deep x 200mm high. Medstor Cabinets 2100mm high x 600mm wide x 400mm deep mounted on Compactus Mobile Bases.

The combination of Compactus Bases and Medstor Cabinets was the perfect solution for storing drug test samples and allowed the quantity of samples stored to be increased by 100% compared with the original static shelving solution which was planned.
