Archive Solution for Wicklow County Council

Wicklow County Council recently transferred all their council records to a new archive building located near the County Council Headquarters in Wicklow Town. After a vigorous tender process Storage Systems Ltd was selected to provide Compactus Mobile Shelving to house all records including the large volume of books, maps and other artefacts, which were needed to stored within the new central archive.

In total 277 bays of Compactus Mobile Shelving were installed. All bays have open backs and steel perforated frames to allow good ventilation and air circulation around the archive material.

A unique aspect of this installation is the special 120mm high raised floor, which was installed to conceal floor mounted pipes which could not be removed from the area where the mobile shelving was to be located. To provide safe access to the system a special 120mm high ramp was installed at the front of each block.
