Medical records go mobile at Cork University Hospital.

In January 2006, Cork University Hospital which is Munster’s largest hospital, opened a new medical records file store. Storage Systems Ltd in conjunction with RKD Architects designed the file storage solution to both accommodate 120,000 medical files and at the same time enable 18 medical records staff to access all files efficiently.

Compactus® Mobile Shelving was chosen as the storage solution and all medical record files are stored on over 2,100 linear metres of shelves.

The Compactus® guide rails were installed in the floor screed during the building construction. Light grey steel decorative panels were chosen to harmonize with the surrounding office environment and label holders were fitted on each row so the staff can easily locate specific medical record files.
