Cork Civic Offices chooses Compactus Mobile Shelving

In November 2006 Cork Civic Offices completed a major refurbishment and extension project. After a vigorous tender process Storage Systems Ltd was selected to supply and install Compactus Mobile Shelving to both the Planning & Development Department and Recreation, Amenity & Culture Dept.

In total over 100 bays of Compactus Mobile Shelving was installed to house the existing one point suspension files. These files are now stored 8 levels high on one point suspension frames in the new shelving.

The Planning & Devlopment Department is now capable of holding over 20,000 files, while the Recreation Amenity & Culture Department is capable of housing in excess of 15,000 files. All guide rails were set into the raised access floor and are supported on steel beams so that the top of the rails is flush with the raised access floor level. This eliminates the need for a false floor and ramps around the guide rails.
