Archive storage solution for Department of Finance

Storage Systems Ltd recently completed a contract to supply and install Compactus Mobile Shelving for the Dept of Finance at their new central warehouse located in Finglas, Dublin 11. The total value of the project was €150,000.00

The installation is designed to store 11,000 archive boxes 330mm wide x 420mm deep x 260mm high. To maximise storage capacity shelves 1375mm wide were utilised which allow 4 archive boxes to be stored side by side on a shelf. Each bay has 7 shelf levels and the overall height is 2712mm.

Mobile bases are 7.2m long and are equipped with a reduction gear drive which enables block loads of 30,000kgs to moved simultaneously by simply turning the handwheel at the front of the base.

For operator safety all mobile bases are fitted with push button safety aisle locks. which when pressed by an operator when entering an aisle will prevent the movement of the mobile bases while the operator is in the aisle. Grey Steeldecorative panels were fitted to the front and rear of all blocks.
